Maitri is translated from Sanskrit as “loving-kindness”, “benevolence”, or “friendliness”. It’s a perfect name to describe the intent of our teas. Serving up a cup of herbal tea is an act of kindness, whether towards yourself or to those with whom you share its warm embrace.

Kindness begins at home, where you reside, work, and play. Where we can, we attempt to grow our ingredients locally in a manner that is good for the environment. Our goal is to give back what we take out. We only source herbs that we can’t grow ourselves from vendors that maintain the same earth-friendly standards we hold dear.

In our estimation, there is no more greater imperative than to maintain a livable plant for all to share and bequeath to future generations.
